Lake Spivey Community and Rainbow House have teamed up to sponsor a 15K road race, 5K run/walk, 1 mile run/walk and Tot-Trot fundraiser to benefit Rainbow House. This will be the 2nd year for the Lake Spivey Road Race and the 11th year for the Run for the Rainbow. As a combined event we'll be using the Lake Spivey Road Race venue and certified courses, and the Rainbow House organizational skills and volunteers. This will surely create an event that is greater than its parts and provide the most support for Rainbow House and the kids!
Lake Spivey Community is a neighborhood alliance of member supported homeowner associations located in the greater Lake Spivey area of Clayton and Henry County, Georgia. Our Mission is to promote, maintain and enhance a positive sense of community. |
|
Rainbow House has been working with local agencies and the community at large for 20 years to provide quality, short-term emergency shelter and therapeutic care for physically and sexually abused, neglected, and abandoned children in metro Atlanta. | |

The Lake Spivey Road Race is a 5K (3.1 Mile) run/walk or, for the more initiated, a challenging 15K (9.3 Mile) road race in Lake Spivey, Georgia. Both races start and finish at the Clayton County International Park (The Beach). Parking is also at the park. The 15K and 5K runners start near the south gate of the park heading east on Walt Stephens Road. The 15K course winds through the residential neighborhoods surrounding Lake Spivey and Lake Jodeco in a clockwise loop. The 5K runners turn left (north) into the Lake Spivey Country Club and Foxfire subdivisions. Runners in both the 15K and 5K return to the park and the race finish line via Walt Stephens Road.
There is also a 1-mile run/walk and a Tot-Trot for those age 6 and under. All runners and walkers will receive a race shirt. The overall and age group will receive awards.
The November 7th race date was chosen because it falls between the Peachtree City Classic 15K / 5K in October and the Atlanta Marathon / Half-Marathon on Thursday, November 26th.
| The Lake Spivey Road Race is proud to be a part of the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix Series, a series of Georgia running events that take place throughout the year. Runners can travel to unique and different locations throughout the state and experience fun and different running events, while seeing new places and sights. Runners earn points for participating in the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Races and placing in the top 20 of their age group for each race. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the series with over 400 races participating, making it the largest race series of its kind in the country. |
